Deleted Scene from KLS-9

Kerry stared at the monitor in horror.

“Jesus…”

At least one hundred children of various ages were crammed into holding cells much too small to give them room to move about. She saw toddlers, one, maybe two years old, and some that looked to be in their twenties. Not one of them were physically whole. Many were missing at least one limb (and some were missing them all). Eyes were missing or clouded by blindness. The ones without legs lay on the floors and would only raise their hands to shield their faces when a child with legs tripped over them. The ones with no limbs at all just closed their eyes and cried.

Kerry leaned over and dry-heaved. He’d said he’d continued his search for the perfect child, but he failed, over and over again. She was staring at his failed experiments, her brothers and sisters. But…what happened to the mothers?

“Oh my God…” The women. All the kidnapped women from Psy-Towns all over the country. This was why they’d been taken. And they hadn’t delivered the “chosen” child he wanted.

She knew beyond a doubt that at least one hundred missing women had been murdered for “failing” the Senator.
